Pictures from JRS in Aceh



Here are some pictures from Aceh, Indonesia. I took these pictures when I worked with Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Indonesia in Aceh with rehabilitation project after 2004 tsunami dissaster. JRS works in 4 Districts, covering project in different sectors; Health, Shelters, livelihood, Education and Advocacy.

Your photos are remarkable! Despite the tragedies they have suffered, these Acehnese have the most beautiful and genuine smiles I have ever seen. It is a reminder for us all to be happy with our lives. Thanks for documenting this.

Kalo ngeliat foto usi, jadi tau deh emang usi punya sentuhan tersendiri pada sisi manusiawi sebuah foto. Wajah-wajah yang muncul dari jepretan usi mereka yang bahagia..deep and touching..
Dari segi komposisi aku paling suka foto "almost ready" precise..salut...

Hi Ansye, thanks for your comments on my gallery from Aceh. You have some excellent photos here. My trip there, just a few months after the Tsunami, was probably one of the most emotional trips I have ever taken. The people there inspired me, especially the kids. The stories I heard tore my heart apart....yet, they would smile, laugh, and play like kids do....amazing people. Cheers....Scotty
