Iron smelting by night in the Archaeological Open Air Museum in Elsarn, Austria ( http://www.freilichtmuseum-elsarn.at ).
Using flash, as other visitors did, would have ruined the athmosphere, so I metered for the glowing parts. For the furnace in full blow this worked quite fine. But the smithing of the bloom got lost in darkness. A chunk of red iron in a mostly black picture is not very interesting. D-Lighting in Nikon's Picture Project (Photoshop could do this too) chiseled out the very last bit of contrast in the dark parts, adding a strange and unworldly look.
