Dead Lakes.jpg

Wewahitchca, FL

These Cypress stumps are left from a once abundant stand
of Cypress trees. Ordinarily they are underwater and not
visible, but the recent lack of rain has resulted in record
low water levels. The water was that blue, reflecting from the sky.
That is what caught my attention when passing over the bridge,
necessitating a quick stop to capture this.

Uhh.. Tim... please tell me.. what on earth were you doing in "Wewa" of all places? (chuckle)
The Dead Lakes are a wonderful sight, even at this time of year... every time I've flown over the area, or drove through Wewa (short cut to Panama City from Tallahassee), I've wondered how many gators were in the lakes. I've always wanted to spend a few hours shooting in the area. I'd take a canoe.. but... thoughts of gators ;) *Thanks for capturing this for us!
