Stunning image Tim. Quite an inspiration. Best J
Jim and Judy Renault
Tim so glad to learn of your blog through Cindy's Chrismas Card Jim and I were shocked to
learn of your lymphoma, there were a few brief days when we thought that was going to be Michael's diagnosis. Oh how we prayed that it was that rather than stomach cancer. I am thankful for you that you have responded well to treatment. We know waiting for those pet scan results are heavy days. You will be in our prayers faithfully now that we know. I am very limited as to travel due repeated failed back surgeries. Jason and Kristen both live within a mile of us. Jason desparately wants to get back to Jax or Orange Pk. to be near his three children. He is a gifted speaker, and youth minister (ours) and great with computers. He lacks the formal educational for many things, but we pray God will find a place for him soon. He is on the road at least every other week. Kristen moved to
Dade City also when Michael was sick. She is a few houses down from us and just had her 3rd son. Thank Cindy for the card, updating us. We don't want to lose track of you. Now I am going to enjoy your photos. We hope to hear you keep getting stronger! Judy Renault
I met you at 21st Century Oncology on August 4th the date of your final treatment.
My name is Barbara and I was having my port flushed and we struck up a conversation and you showed me some of your photographs on your mini netbook.
Haven't really looked around your site yet, but from what I have seen thus far you are very talented and the photos are clean and beautiful.
I have some local artist/photography friends who have a sort of networking going and I wondered if you would be interested in that.
I will register so you can respond via e-mail.
Take Care & Take Christ, Barbara
Your excellent shots of the Carnival Liberty were very helpful in deciding on this ship for a week's cruise to celebrate a 10th wedding anniversary this October. Thanks.

Your pictures are wonderful and interesting, including that custom bracket of yours you post in the equipment gallery. Did you make it yourself, how can I get one like that. Not even custom brackets or just rite brackets have the one I want but you do!
Please contact me @ www.italoalegria.smugmug.com
WOW Love all your equipment.
Love your shots of Crosby. I love sports photography and would love any advice you have. I'm torn about gettng the Canon 100-400 Lens vs using my trusty 70-200 2.8 w 1.4 extender. I need reach for my outdoor sports like soccer and field hockey but need to know this extra $ will help me over my current setup.
Also your site looks awesome. I thought my design done with Zenfolio was good but PBase looks great.
You can reply at firstname.lastname@example.org
Love the latest Birds Tim--do you use a flash for those in flight? they are so perfectly exposed.
Tim, very nice. I like the new one of the church that burned on San Jose/Hendricks. And I was very excited to see the shots of Pittsburgh. Lynda sister moved to Mt. Washington. We took a Christmas shot of our kids inside the incline when they were young. Your Cuz, Marc Turko
Tim Read your write up on the canon 100-400 lens and am pretty sure i'm going to get one i want to get the canon 2x extender also.
Thanks for the info
One terrific website! I just love all of your photos, they are awesome! The photos you took of the organ are fabulous of course, but your travel photos and nature photos really speak to me. You were much too modest when we spoke. Of course the photos you showed me on your camera gave me a clue, but still did not prepare me for this incredible collection of outstanding photos!
Thanks for the organ photos, they are exactly what I needed for the digital display at the organists conference next week in Sarasota.
At times like this I find myself stumbling trying to find appropriate adjectives, but coming up short. They all sound trite when compared to your artistic creations. Forgive me for sounding like a bumbling idiot, but you rock!

I have a renewed interest in photography, especially panoramic photography after adding PangeaVR app. (FREE) to my iphone. It is a marvelous way to share panos and 360 degree photos. I also have an interest in sharing the awesome imagery of Pgh. I encourage you to experience this for your self on your or a friends iphone. I think you will be amazed as well.
I came across your site whilst Googling for various reviews on the Canon 100-400mm L IS USM Lens. Your opinions and great gallery photos made the final decision for me. I have only had the lens for a few days but thanks to you, I already know I've made great choice. Regards,
Terry McKenna, England.
If I don't read F1Racing's forum often I wouldn't be able to find your photos here. Wonderful photos! Very well done indeed! And I wish I could have learned a few things from you.
I usually don't comment on sites but yours is exceptionally nice. Even the site design is one of the best Pbase sites I have seen. Very well done. I bookmarked it and I will check often. One request for the sports section.......how about some Steeler photos :)
I Enjoyed the Photos And Your Website,

You have some beautiful pictures. Looking at buying a Canon 40D and the Canon EF28-135 IS lense with it. Was your 40D camera used in any of the pictures taken in Greece? Would you recommend the 40D which is about my limit in price?
Happy New Year... and many happy shots in a new 2008. Thanks for Your support
Stunning bird pics, very sharp detail love the punchy colours regards Alan from the UK.
Some beautiful photos here, Tim. 'Visions of Greece' is especially inspiring.

Tim, Sign me up as your first customer for your 2008 calendar you are hopefully putting together. Any profits you make, I know, would be used to finance more eye candy for us all.
Your 'Visions of Greece Gallery' is pure poetry
Saw your photo in the Times-Union Sunday, good job Tim! I got my 1DMIIN back in Feb. and I'm loving it! Thanks again for all your advice with that earlier this year and keep up the great work.
Tnx for the comments Tim. But actually YOUR images completely blow me away. Please share with me in telling me what camera and lenses are you using, then what sort of software if any, are you manipulating the files with.

Hey Tim. Great shots. I was originally linked to your working looking for info on the 135-400mm Sigma lens. I was drawn in by your photos. Great shots all around. I enjoyed the Blue Angels. I took shots at this years and last years memorial day shows of them. Birds and other animals and sports are also impressive. Great shots all around. I'll keeping checking back for updates. If you have time... www.davesandberg.com Enjoy.
This site is very useful. Keep up this excellent work - very good.
I am very impressed with your DC photos at Cherry Blossom time. I was there during that time, and wasn't able to take as many photos as I would have liked. My visit will hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life, and your photos helped me to capture that of what I missed.
Best regards, Mark
Hey Tim. I am just blown away by this puppy. I whole heartedly recommend a German Shepherd puppy if you do get a dog. The female we have is very smart, great with the kids and she is close to totally housebroken already :) Have a great spring and happy shooting.
Thank God I found you again. I lost your link.
I was also sick for a long time, but now I feel much better, just recovering from a surgery on my arm last 30 January. Your work is outstanding gorgeous, a real joy to look at
Just wanted to say your galleries are very impressive.
This is Jorge. Wow, your pics are really impressing, but then, you also have some nice glass. PLEASE!!! share yout sharpening method with me. Emailing would be easier IMHO.
I really enjoy all your galleries! Your Night Shots gallery is probably my favorite of all the galleries here on pbase. One question about your sports shots: have you ever had any problems taking your camera into the stadiums or do you get a photographer's credential? Keep up the great work!
Hi Tim: I have seen pics of Rome before, but nothing compares to your photographs, which are elegant and revealing, as a good "insider's view" of the great city. Congratulations for the good work. JARIS
Best wishes for you & a happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice Picture ,Beautiful Gallery
Regard Francis and Happy
Thanks for the damselfly note/correction. I tend to shoot first and ask questions later! BTW, lots of extremely well done images in your galleries. I lived in the D.C area for a year and enjoyed your cherry blossom pictures!
Hi Tim. The train photo was taken at Hawk's Nest State Park. Not sure about GrandView"....
I appreciate your info about the downloaded pictures. When I went to the site it would not download completely, so I wonder if something was done to the sight to block it?? I'm new at this digital stuff. Thanks for taking time to alert me.
Thanks for the tips Tim. Much appreciated. My first b-ball attempt is a men's game wed.
Thanks again and have a great holiday Tim, happy hunting.

I also enjoyed looking at your work! I liked a lot your bird shots! Amazing!
You asked if I was the Ed Knepley from Jacksonville. Nope. Gainesville, Virginia. It's scary to think there are two of us running loose.
Hi Tim - Your galleries are outstanding, and your bird images are fabulous - I love the flight shots! (Where DID you find that screech owl?) :o) I'm glad you caught up with Artie last weekend, St. Augustine was great but I'm exhausted! IPT could be called ABC (Avian Boot Camp!) I'll be checking your site frequently, great work Tim!
Thanks for your message regarding my work. I'm impressed with your galleries, have added them to my favorites, and will return again soon.
You have some beautiful work here.

Hi Tim......Great galleries, and many beautiful shots! I'd guess you live in/near Jacksonville? I work there and live in Palm Coast. Maybe we can get together sometime for a shoot. I'm about due for another visit to the Jax Zoo. Thanks for your comments on my images....Karl
Forgot to mention the question you had about shooting data. Almost all my macros with the 300mm are shot from f/7.1 to f/11. Occasionally I will push it to f/16 and f/22 but at those apertures, shutter speed really becomes an issue. I would say the majority of my shots are at f/8 and shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/15th second. Except for the butterflies which where shot in bright light and higher shutter speeds. You would thing wind would be a problem at those shutter speeds and you would be correct. I mainly shoot pre-sunrise and post-sunset when the wind is at it calmest. I have to pass on many shots because of wind movement. You really have to pick your days and have plenty of patience.
Thanks for viewing my images and leaving such generous comments.
About the 300mm lens for macro:
I developed that technique some 30 years ago when I first attempted macro. I was never satisfied with the close working distance and shallow DOF when using a 55mm macro lens. I already had a 300mm lens that I used for birds. One day I just tried the extension tubes on the 300mm and was very surprised with the performance of that combination. It allow me to keep a good distance from the subjects and gives such a wonderful bokeh. I shoot for the background as much as I do the subject. The only negative with that setup is you must use a tripod for every shot. Another secret to successful macros with the 300mm is to use the camera's self timer and anti-shock feature. The D100 does not have a mirror lockup. It has a feature, anti-shock, that trips the shutter at a predetermined time after the mirror vibration has subsided. It works amazingly well. Another good feature of the 300mm f/4d ED-IF is the Extra-Low dispersion glass, "L" glass in the Canon lens. These lens are far superior than all the macro lens that does not have this glass. Of coarse all the above is only the start of getting those great shots. Post processing is the other half and probably carries more weight than the original image. Down sizing those images and keeping the clarity and color is the weakness of most photographers I see on the Web. If you have any other question feel free to drop me a note at email@example.com
Hi Tim, your work is amazing, my compliments.
Thank you! I had to be out of town on business, so I missed all the fun. Thank you for sharing all the glitz and excitement!! JuneNJax
I lived for 11 months in Richmond, Va. and had the opportunity to visit some of the places you have wonderfully captured in your pictures. Thanks for sharing them. Bring back very good memories.
Tim - you have provided us with some wonderful photos to go with our memories - thanks.
Hey Tim, thanks for the comments about my Vegas images. It's a place that offers many interesting photo ops for sure! You have some excellent photos in your gallery as well, I particularly enjoyed the night shots. Keep up the great work.
I saw your link on DPReview and the Jax skyline got my attention. I am also a (lifelong) Jax resident and it is remarkable how similar some of our pictures are. Look at my galleries of St. Augustine and the Balloon Fest - I guess great minds think alike! I also have the Sigma 70-300. The entire "Jax Zoo" gallery was taken with it.

Just letting you know that I enjoyed some of your pictures and say, "hi".
Very nice pictures and also from your perspective. I was beginning to think I was the only Christian that posted on this site. The pic of the Jacksonville Jag running back impressed me the most because of it's clarity especially at 400mm. What type of lens did you use for that?
As good as these pics are though, I'm still not convinced that DSLR cameras have any better clarity (out of the camera) than the Olympus cameras I am currently using. True the DSLR's have much better lighting and more natural. But better resolution and clarity? I honestly don't think so. What do you think?
Also the pics of the little girls are so cute and the teens are cute too.
Very professionally done!
Hello, I enjoyed your photos.Thx for sharing. :)
Great shots! Mike V. shared this link at the Office today. I'm looking at a 300D. Really enjoyed browsing your Gallery. Very nice shots. Would love to talk to you about your choices for lenses sometime.
Hi Tim - nice photos! Send me an e-mail to discuss printing 8x12's as you asked me in the dpreview forum. Regards. Anthony
Excellent 'burgh shots. May I use some for a project for class? thx! Kurt
It is because of your animal shots with the sigma that I decided to purchase a sigma 70-300mm lens. My images are not ultra sharp, but well worth it for the small amount of money I paid for the sigma. Take a look at some of my pictures & let me know what you think...
Using your animal and nature pictures in the science lab this week.
Great pictures, Tim!! Can't wait to see your Disney shots!
