Long time no chat, I see your photos are as wonderful as ever!
Beautiful Photos of Manus Island, The Manus Tourism Board will be launching its Manus Tourism Website tomorrow the 17th of June 2009.
Chairman of Manus Tourism Board
Hi Mr Eckert,
Its just cold here in Tassie!
Iam a PNG student doing - Marine Environment studies, at the University of Tasmania, Australia. My wife is from Manus with a boy child still back there home on one of the small islands of Rapatona LLG. Iam keen on photography myself, to acquire a camera that can do wonders, to capture the best still shots of marine environment for my study work especially.
Your website is cool, and articles very professional and of the highest quality. I last left a message entry (2009)on the galleries / PBase site I think?.. not as a guest though, since married to a Manusian.
Id like to think of your photos (of Manus)as those reflecting uniqueness and beauty - yet the ever changing landscape and seascape in Manus, as the changing tides and silent waves across the sand of those paradise beaches of coral islands. It is HOPE that WE who see would feel responsible towards the environment and take measures wherever WE are to safeguard what we all have...the natural environment is very fragile and ethical standards must be maintained be it through generations of proven traditions or proven modern science.
Thank you Mr. Eckert many times over, as your footprints in photography is invaluable to Manus, PNG, Australia and the rest of the world...and forgive me for intruding uninvited. May you excel in your work many times over.
You're an artist in its own realm.
Love your work! Keep it up!
