Hal, we only have surf here when the wind is blowing from certain angles. Normally it's just small waves lapping onto the beach. very safe. Our west coast usually has the big waves and that can be quite dangerous

A lovely summer scene Janice. Seems strange with no surf. Probably because it's in a bay. Our local beach has been closed for a few days due to visiting sharks. l'm enjoying seeing your views around Auckland. l was in Hamilton for 5 years but know almost nothing of Auckland and its surrounds.
