This is one of my favorite gulls. Mainly because it is fairly petite and not very common. These gulls build their nests in coniferous trees in the boreal forests of Alaska and Canada.

Thanks very much, Hal, Janice, and Pete! We have many species of Seagulls, but this one is particularly nice, I think. That black dot on its head is very diagnostic for this species.

These seagulls are great models. I find it interesting how the seagulls all around the world are different from each other. Our seagulls don't have that black mark on their faces.
