A Canyon Sunset

Grand Canyon, Arizona

Time was when I didn't like this image of the Grand Canyon at sunset because I decided to break the rules and pitch a vertical landscape composition. I decided, now that I am older a few years, I actually have broken more rules than just this one, and am forgiven by grace. So, in the interest of His glory, and grace, here's one of my new favorites.

I hope this eclectic group will enjoy. Sherri and I sat here for about 90 minutes for this shoot at Mathers Point.

It is spectacular. I particularly like the composition. No rules broken in my book, and I'm sure our Higher Power loves any photo that makes his handiwork look this good.

I really like this. It gives us a great sense of depth and steepness. Not the typical expansive view of the canyon.

The colours are fantastic! Some rules are okay to break.

A vertical composition if ever l saw one. .
And a masterpiece of breath-taking grandeur.
So glad that you are giving it a well-deserved airing Michael.
