Rattlesnake Lake, King County, Washington

Rattlesnake Lake

This frame is one of the many I shot while the wind was gusting up to the point it was challenging to keep the tripod steady and upright, let alone myself! The wisps of white up in the air is the water being blown off the tops of the white caps and freezing in mid-air! What you don't see is me freezing in the midst of being pelted by the ice pellets in the oh so very cold conditions!

What a scene!! So interesting to see how cold it is over there, but I think I'll be happy to stay where I am here in NZ

You captured the beauty of Natures fury. Hope you are warm and dry now!

Beautiful picture Jim. Looks more like what we would expect here than what I would expect in Washington.

Wish I had been there to get a shot of you getting your shots :). This is super dramatic, Jim! Thanks for enduring that blast of extreme cold!
