Fancy standing on an extinct volcano !
l hope it really is extinct.
Actually Wollongong is in the crator of an ancient volcano.
There are steep winding roads up out of the crator
and wide flat areas of solidified lava where it flowed into the sea.

Thanks all - it was quite an dramatic sky to see. Yes Hal - the bridge is to the right, and we never got any rain until 11.30 that night. I shall put up another photo showing where the 2 sky designs 'met' next time
