Douglas County, Washington

Windmill and the Milky Way

This abandoned farm is west of Waterville, Washington about 10 miles.
It was kind of creepy to be there all alone with a spooky house right next
to me.

You can't see them all in this low resolution image, but in the full size
photo there are 7 meteorites cruising through the scene.

Still working on perfecting my night time, time lapse techniques and have
learned in order to keep the dew off the lens I need to get a lens heater.
Who would've ever thunk! Regardless, the 299 images I captured on
Saturday night/Sunday morning look great in a slide show played at .1
second per photo. Only lasts about 9 seconds (never mind the fact it took
me 130 minutes to capture all the photos), but its really cool!

Still working on getting my hands on the software that will allow me to
combine all the photos in a single movie file so I can share it.

You are doing some fantastic work, Jim. I know that you spent a lot of time scouting out foreground scenes, and of course, a lot of time photographing. Your efforts paid off in an amazing photo.

Brilliant Jim
Adobe makes a movie program. We got a trial copy of it with PS.

Very cool as I have the same problem with time lapse and dew on the glass....while I don't make movies I do layer all 200 or so images for a final shot.....way cool Jim!!!

Great capture and sounds like a lucky night with seven meteorites in one image. Looks like you got a good start to astrophotography.
