King School 1916-1948

Hwy 13 in Wisconsin between Cornucopia and Superior

We found this old abandoned school on Route 13 between Cornucopia and Superior, Wisconsin. It looks like it was used as a meeting center after its use as a school, but has been abandoned for a long time. A window was broken and I put my camera through it. I was amazed that the schoolroom was still filled with desks and an old wooden stove. Those items would be long gone in most places! There also is an old stove and refrigerator in a back room.

Thanks, Hal, Pat, Bob and Lennart. Bob, the door is buffered. This building sits near the shore of Lake Superior, far north in Wisconsin. The inner doors were not open. I took a couple of shots through broken windows, though.

This is an incredible photo... it is remarkable that this building is still standing. Hope you got some good inside shots. The door looks open.

Thanks Lynn, Mike, Walter and Terry. Lynn, yes, creepy. It helped set the scene because it was a very overcast morning. I will post a couple of more from this setting.

Amazing find, Cindy. Love the b&w. Incredible that the building has survived, let
alone the furnishings!

This is a neat place for photo ops! The windows are kind of creepy, I feel like I am being watched. Your photo is very good in mono, emphasizes the weather beaten surfaces. Nice work here!
