StarTrailsOverSkyValley.jpg

Johnston Ridge, Cascade Mountains, Washington

This view is from atop Johnston Ridge (about 5,500 feet above sea level) above the Beckler River valley, and in the distance is the Skykomish River valley. This image is 99 individual photos combined together via StarStaX software. Each exposure was 1 minute in length. The red streak across the star field is a jet that took three minutes to cross my field of view.

Stunning and well worth the work.
You can tell you are quite far North as star trail further south starts to have the star trails flatening out.

A most interesting technique, Jim. I am assuming the north star is the central point.
You just keep on posting the most fascinating images. Love it.
