Edmonds, Washington

Dicks Drive-In Edmonds Grand Opening

Nathaniel Deasy, Natalie Coloberg, and Danielle Deasy look on as Dicks Drive-in employees prepare potatoes for the deep fryer.

While thousands of people lined up for as much as 2+ hours to get their first burgers, fries and shakes at the newest Dicks Drive-in these local Edmonds kids had a front row seat at the process of making french fries the old-fashioned way. The same way Dicks has been preparing them since 1954.

This is the first Dicks Drive-In (a Seattle institution) to be opened in 37 years and the first one outside of King County. Based on the enormous crowds that stood in line for well over 2 hours the launch is a HUGE success!

If you're not from Seattle this is probably fairly meaningless to you. That's ok, we forgive you! For those of us born and raised in this region this is a MONUMENTAL day!

I'm smiling to myself and licking my lips at the same time.
Chips as we call them over here, and a burger, yum.
Then wash them down with a can of Coke, no wonder I'm on blood pressure tablets.LOL.
A great shot Jim.

Mmmmmm.... Dick's.

I don't eat that stuff very often, but for Dick's I'd make
an exception any day! I think it's been about 10 years since
I've been to one. Used to be a standard stop on the way home
from Mariner's games and it's been about 10 years since I saw
one of those as well.

Maybe we need to schedule a 2nd Annual TTL NW Washington User Group
Meeting.

We were there! But not waiting in line. We used to call Dicks
'Recardo's 19' because their hamburgers were 19 cents (1960s).
Love the candid shot!
