A Walk in the Woods

Shiloh, Tennessee

A young guy making his rounds this morning.
I was trying out my new toy...
I figured if this Canon "Image Stabilization " is any good, let's try it out...
The darkness of early morning let me challenge the whole system, since I already had Fuji 400 Pro loaded..

Canon EOS 1 V-HS,Canon 300/4.0 IS USM,Fuji 400 Pro
f4 for 1/50 second, hand held. full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Young buck looks like it has escaped deer season. Great find and capture!

Looking at this picture, it has a fantastic 3D effect to it.
The deer is so well isolated from his surroundings, he really pops out at the viewer.
I also like the bit of motion blur on his right front leg.

Hi Michael, you have presented us with a very nice and friendly nature study! Personally I would have cropped it with more space in front of the animal than behind! On the other hand thats maybe too traditional! Nice work under the tough light conditions!

The slight blur on the leg really adds to the image. I really like the isolation of the subject that you achieved.

Looks good to me... I really like the movement in the front right leg.

Looks like it works fine, Michael. I can see you pushed
that ISO 400 to the limit, and created an interesting image
in part because of the background grain.

Looks sharp to me and as cute as bambi.
