A Friend in the Woods

Shiloh, Tennessee

This young lady spent about 15 minutes posing for me from 10-12 meters distance yesterday, intermittently eating acorns from the ground near an old oak tree.
Deer love acorns, even preferring them to corn this time of year.

I definitely do NOT do bears...

Be careful when the bears start letting
you get this close. :-)

Wonderful capture of nature in it's glory. This beauty was likely checking you out as much as you were her. Great shot Michael!

Hi Michael.
l'm delighted to see that you are getting closer to the deer now.
This lovely photo must be very close to your best so far. Beautifully done

I'm thinking she's done pretty well nutritionally, too.
She was amazing. I was the first one to break off.
She let me back the car up two or three times, slowly.
No real fear.
Very uncommon.

She is a beauty and a good model, too. You did a fine job with the Spotmatic.
