Steps

Wisconsin

Steps leading to a viewing platform in the Kettle Moraine. The kettles were formed when ice from the glaciers was buried. When it finally melted, kettles (depressions) were left in the landscape. Lake Winnebego is a very large kettle that filled with water and became a lake. If you are interested, you can find out more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettle_Moraine

Beautifully composed and executed, Cindy. And a perfect description
of a kettle.

I agree with Frank and Hal; the steps form a very strong leading line (although, I did know about kettles).

I have to agree with Hal, those steps really draw you right up through the image. Great shot. Those meds of mine are working also. Thanks also for explaining what the kettle was, as I had no idea.

Remarkable how this photo forces one's eyes to follow the steps upward, Cindy.
A wonderful and very pleasing photograph. And thanks for introducing me to "kettles".

Fascinating stuff, most interesting.
I like the bark patterns on the left hand tree

Sharp, crisp image, very well exposed.
You really need to get hold of one of those 21/2.8 Zeiss lenses for the G series, Cindy...they are amazing...
Beautiful shot, and, it should be noted, a beautiful scan as well...
