Badlands

Wisconsin

Thanks to everyone who sent well-wishes to my son. We are going to be traveling to Rochester, MN to the Mayo Clinic this week so that he can get started on a treatment. My very special thanks to Michael, who has been so much support.'
This is from my archives, but I processed it today. Don't you wonder what the pioneers thought when they were crossing to the West and reached the Badlands?

Well, I can see why they call it the badlands.... I love the way you have layered this, from the sunset, to the foreground...

Wow this is such beautiful country, for us that is, I am sure the pioneers thought different. Love the pink lined rocks. bv

This is awesome. I love the streaks of red running through
the um... is it dirt or rock?
My thoughts are with you and your son.

Spectacular image; I love the Badlands. And, yes I too have wondered many times about what the pioneers must have thought when they encountered terrain such as this. Excellent job framing this up, and your post processing is right on the money. Regarding your son, our prayers are for him and your family and for the doctors caring for him.

Gorgeous, gorgeous image, Cindy. I love the way you framed the shot.
The colors are terrific particularly with the golden browns separating the
foreground from the rugged mountains and dramatic sky.
