Prairie Wagon

One has to wonder the history here...this wagon I found on the prairie, near the course of the original Oregon Trail.
As much as I wished to try the new 28 mm lens closer, the air temperature was 39 C, and the heat index was around 45 C. I used the 50 mm and stayed in the car...

As Rudi infers that would be a cool day in the outback, but I'm with you midday sun is not ideal for photo's. Good effort.

I would love to come upon a find like this. Well spotted, Michael.

The wagon looks like it has been sitting around for
a while so you will probably be able to revisit it
in more friendly conditions.

It looks like the sunlight was quite harsh as well, so
getting out of the car would might been a waste of time
anyway. Keep in mind that I'm a long-time Pacific
Northwest resident and want to crawl under a rock when
the sun is out with any strength at all. :-)

Suck it up and get out there, Michael! ;)
Nice shot, BTW. :)

A nice find despite the weather Michael. Hopefully you can go back and explore it in milder weather. I find myself doing much of the same this summer; taking records for later visits.

What an interesting find Michael.
You were wise not to get out of the car in the blazing heat.
ln fact it was good of you to stop for the photograph at all.
Thank you.
