This is beautiful and it just goes to show that an old lens can still be a good lens...same age as me! :)

They don't make 'em like us any more, LOL!

Thanks Bob and Deb.
Bob, I hope you know I was only kidding you about your "old" lens. LOL

Cindy... this is BEAUTIFUL. Warm and wistful, soft and lonely. Truly, truly beautiful.

LOL... I was more lamenting all the AF searching that it was doing trying to lock in on a moving target. With the limited DOF, that's expected. For stationery subjects shot from a tripod, the Canon 100mm Macro is a fine, fine lens. I don't shoot many macro shots and most of them fit in the stationary target category. Thanks for the reality check!

I love this shot. Very nice bokeh and the softness is appropriate to the subject and mood.

Hal, Thank you. I have to agree. I took some wonderful photos with a 3MP camera. My ever favorite digital was my 6MP Fuji S5. I think they are making the pixels smaller and those old fat pixels were superior. LOL
I have never had the 3.5 Elmer, but a have a 35 f/3.5 summaron on my M4-P that I love. It holds its own with my whoopee 35 f/2 Summicron ASPH....maybe not in ultra sharpness, but definitely in character.

Hi Cindy
And when l visited the Leica factory l was told that the lens
that they compare all new lenses with for sharpness, is the old 3.5 50mm Elmar.
l wonder if these companies today are using pixels as an excuse to make us keep buying
new stuff. Some of my loveliest images were taken with my 2.5Mp camera.
This photo is absolutely wonderful and ethereal Cindy.
