This was for a funeral of a 26 year old Hillsborough county Sheriff Deputy that was killed while responding to a call. This was the first time in 17 years that a hillsborough county deputy has died in the line of duty. David Abella was responding to an alarm call and as he was responding he lost control and plowed through 2 large telephone poles, he crashed right through te first one then wrapped around the second. The crash also created a small brush fire near the scene. E-1 was first onscene and requested a helicopter and the Heavy Rescue Team. The heavy rescue team had a very difficult extrication as his legs where encased in the floorboards. The mount that holds the deputies laptop was also difficult to work around. Rescue Crews requeted 2 units of blood as they where extricating him. He was finally extricated and pulled out after over an hour of heavy cutting,spreading and pulling.
