Horizontal Stacking

Horizontal Stacking

The object of this competition is to create a series of repeated structures that are all arranged next to each other.
Guidelines:

1. There must be a minimum of 3 structures arranged in a line. The line can curve, but the structures may not form a vertex (i.e. you could build enough structures to make a circle, but could not make three and arrange them in a triangle). There is no maximum to the number of structures.
2. The structures should be similar in style and construction, but do not need to be identical. You may vary each individual one slightly if you choose.
3. The structures must be the main focus of the piece.
4. The structures must be a fixed distance from each other, and that distance may not be more than 100% their own width from each other. For example, if your structures were 10 cm wide, then the next one would have to be no more than 10 cm away. This implies that all entries must be on a single base, unless it can be proven that the separate bases would dictate a fixed distance (i.e. in the case of river sections stacked end to end).
5. There is no minimum distance between the structures.
6. No height restrictions, no base size restrictions, and build it with any theme you want.

Possible examples are, but are not limited to:
• Storage tanks
• Row houses
• Stonehenge
• A row of Moai
• Power generators
• Gabions
• A series of office buildings/skyscrapers, maybe with an art-deco theme… (hint, hint Neal!)
• Something row-like that would look good in, oh, I don't know... a swamp?
• Anything else you can imagine that makes a row
