Banding ospreys 2012

A big shout out to We Energies Corporation and Fox Valley/Iron Range manager Bruce Sasman for the osprey banding project in 2012. Together with the team out of Weyauwega we managed to get two nests this year. Thanks to the boots on the ground group of Tom Braun, Dave Lemmens, and climbers Mark Palm and Jamie Lindholm we tagged four birds.

Color bands this year were black. The birds in New London were older than we had ever banded before and they had attitudes. A few citizens attended the banding and were all in awe to see these birds up close.

Below are the photos that tell the story.
