About Danielle

I have been taking underwater photographs since November 2005. The photographs in these galleries are shot using a Canon 20D with, 10-22mm lens (wideangle), 60mm lens (macro)and 17-85mm lens (for general shots). My housing, ports and 125 strobe are made by Ikelite. I have flooded my camera once already so insurance is a must....

I have recently upgrades to a Canon 5D Mk II and added a second strobe. I will have new albums coming soon from the past year in Indonesia! Photos include turtles, pigmy seahorses, manta rays and stunning coral and fish life!

Photography for me started as a very expensive hobby and turned into a full time obsession very quickly! I started diving in Okinawa, Japan and became a PADI Divemaster in 2005. I have dived in Japan, Palau, The Phillippines, Australia and Indonesia. My favourite dive site in Okinawa is Ie Island. I love doing boat dives and try to go out with Chuck DeCesari on his boat as often as possible! He goes to the best dive sites on Okinawa including the amazing Ie Island, Hedo Point and the USS Emmons. Almost all of my pictures of Okinawa were taken aboard his boat so a big thank you to Chuck!

I have held two exhibitions of my work in Okinawa. The first was in August, 2006 in 'Ippotuko', a Japanese Soba House. The second exhibition was in the Foster Base Library in September 2006. Thank you to those friends who took the time to stop by and check them out! Photographs of the exhibitions can be seen below.

These are some online newspaper reviews from my exhibitions!

Any comments about my site and work would be most appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look at "The Underwater World" and see you down under!

I have also been published in various travel, dive and adventure magazines worldwide and most recently in Discovery Channel Singapore Magazine. Please check back at my site in September for a new look and exciting new albums from Indonesia waters!
