Primary target on this photo trip to Susanville was the Shaffer lek at which Greater Sage Grouse display, off Route 395. We also visited the two units of Honey Lake, drove around Eagle Lake, and checked out the grade, the main street, and the cemetery of Janesville. Thanks to Ashok Khosla for good company, expert navigation, and inspiration, and to Bob Hirt, who has led more than thirty annual trips of birders to this area, for indispensable advice.
