Birds -- Southern California, March 2014

I was on the Orange County coast March 13-15, 2014, and did some bird photography at San Elijo Lagoon in northern San Diego County two of those mornings, and Bolsa Chica in on the other one. Though I missed out on my main target, California Gnatcatcher, I was lucky to find nesting/courting Great Blue Herons on the mesa at Bolsa Chica, and good views of male Allen's Hummingbirds at San Elijo, including one that shows the diagnostic tail feather (lanceolate R2, where Rufous would be notched).
