I visited Northern California's prime summer birding spot, the Yuba Pass / Sierra Valley tandem, June 22-26, 2006, and here are some pictures. I've included some that aren't so good photographically because they are nice mementos of a great (albeit hot!) trip.

I'm jealous! I was going to go up with Ted Chandik and Fly By Dawn, but I got the flu! How in the heck can you catch the flu in June??? Especially when you've had a flue shot??? Love those woodpeckers! Happy Fourth of July, Nancy Teater

His usual good pics especially the sparrows. Always nice to get acquainted with the subtle field marks which may be difficult to see in the field
