Debi Shearwater has been leading pelagic trips on Monterey Bay for thirty-six years, and for this one, she waved her magic wand and, lo, the waters were calm, at least for part of the trip. That smooth surface is a great boon to pelagic bird photographers, and Debi's namesake birds made especially good use of the reflection opportunities. The highlight for me was a close approach by a Buller's Shearwater over reflective water.
