As birders know, these fellows are not easy to find, so I was delighted to come across this one out in the open in that characteristic camouflage pose along the auto tour at San Luis NWR. It was getting late on a cloudy afternoon, so I was pretty impressed with my new lens when this handheld shot in those light conditions turned out as well as it did.
