Birds--West Marin, June 2018

We had a family vacation in a Stinson Beach rental house near the north end of the Seadrift peninsula, overlooking Bolinas Lagoon, June 22-29, 2018. Brown Pelicans were omnipresent and photogenic as always, and less usual birds included newly arrived HEERMANN'S GULLS and WHIMBRELS, an overwintering immature COMMON LOON, a few CASPIAN TERNS, a heronry of nesting EGRETS and GREAT BLUE HERONS, and (far out on the mudflats one morning only) two BALD EAGLES.
