My grand mother was from sao miguel and grandfather fial. Went last year for first time in Feb. Paradise. Going again in march with a trip to madeira. Can't wait!

Priscilla....This is "Sao Miguel, Azores", where all four of my grandparents came from. It is a beautiful Portuguese-owned island in the middle of the Atlantic. The large flower clusters of the hydrangea shrub, grow in abundance all over the island. Our ancestors came to the "Azores Islands" in the early 1500's, and lived there for many generations, before my grandparents moved to Fall River, MA. in early 1900's.
