Great site and photos! Glad I found it. I took a few pics with my B/W little Kodak, but they're very blurry and well, no telephoto back then... Great job, Tony.

I was at this concert! My best friend, Joanne won the tickets on a radio call-in contest. 1010 WINS, "Murray the K". We had GREAT seats. We were in the 20th row from the field, just above where they came out onto the field. It was the summer before high school. My friends parents dropped us off at the gate and picked us up afterwards. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I was a HUGE Beatlemaniac...not a real screamer..I was actually trying to hear them!! -Carol Topitzer, Connecticut

Wow, I'm so glad I found this!! I was there also and enjoyed reading these comments and looking at the pics. A friend's dad took us, we took the #7 train from the city which for me was an adventure in itself, being 14 and never rode a subway before. I was way up in the peanut gallery too. Heard Bobby Hedd as I tried to find a restroom!! I also made a special dress for the event :-). Still have one complete ticket as one person didn't show. What a treasured memory of a wonderful time in my, and our, lives.

Thinking about being 12 and at the 8/23/1966 concert at Shea with dear Larry D., lifelong friend Susan and Bobby, DeeDee, Gregory,, Frankie......a priceless memory forever.

So glad I found this! I was 12 on 8/23/66 and was in a narrow section that I think were called the "box seats" with my 18 year old sister. Can't imagine what folks high up in the bleachers could see, because our binoculars didn't do much. Someone in front of us let us briefly borrow her high powered ones and it was so exciting to see them close up. Thank you so much for posting these! Never saw much in the way of photos from this concert!

A close fiend of mine was there that night and was interviewed by CBS. When the Beatles anthology came out, it was included. And standing behind him was Merrel Streep! Great pics!

I saw them at Busch Stadium in St Louis. The guy from the Roadshow antique show on PBS in 2008 told me my old ticket & envelope is worth apprx $1300. I have 2 tkts as my sister went with me. I also have a purple ink memmiographed hand out about John being more popular than Jesus, that a group of ppl
were passing out hoping we wouldn't attend the concert. No way. I had already had arguments with my grandmother about going. I saw one of the BEATLES last concerts...still amazes me some 40+ yrs later. Thx Dad & mom for driving us to St Louis from Tulsa!!!!! It chged my life for the better! I will always be so grateful for this experience that u afforded me. ❤

Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories. I was 12. My seat was all the way on top, but I managed to sneak down a level and could sort-of hear them.

Thanks for your website. It brings back great memories. It was a magical night. I was way up at the top of the stadium with a small telescope since I didn't have any binoculars. The dress I wore that night I always referred to as "My Beatle Dress"- Mary

I was only 12 years old and it was the thrill of my life. All these years I thought they were wearing maroon pinstripe velour pullovers. The person next to me let me use her binoculars for a second. Oh well, at least I was there :)

$5.75 from 1966 is equivalent to about $40 in 2010 ! Still a deal!
Guest 24-Aug-2009 20:34
WOW. I love your website! I was there, too. My ticket looked exactly like yours, but I wasn't cleaver enough to hang onto the stub or take a photo. Your photos are really great, considering the obstacles. bg

I was fortunate enough to see them in 65 and 66. My 1965 ticket is blue and the price on it is 5.65. My 1966 ticket is yellow and it is a whopping 5.75...there is inflation for you, up a whole .10

I went to this concert I have no pictures. Thank you for a look back of one of my best memories. My ticket was blue.

Not for sale I'm sure(I sure wouldn't sell it),but I wonder what it would bring on EBay?
Guest 23-Jul-2008 13:36

Damn, only $5.75 to see The Beatles!?! Where was I when this happened?? I could have saved money :-P

Try paying that for a rock concert these days. These days $5.75 wouldn't even cover the cost of a beer.

Just Wonderful! Really great! Thank you for your effort! :-)

Can you tell me if the back is blank on these tickets or if it has printing?
