I ripped up the carpet in one of the hallways at home because I'm remodeling and found these two quarters under one of the baseboards, just like this. I'm assuming that they are there representing the two children of the folks that used to own my house. The date on the quarters are about right for how old they are. So, I cleaned the floor and will leave them there when I lay new carpet down.
