Part of the difficulty in adding this bird to your life list is that it isn't only restricted to favored habitats. Adding this bird will also require that you only observe it from specific viewing angles and at critical moments in time. Never recorded perched, the Short-Winged Ferrugie, (sometimes call the SWiFerr Hawk) has yet to be accepted in the ABA-area. :-)
