Four months ago I was hit by a car and sent to the emergency room. I am so grateful to be fully recovered, but for me and so many others I've heard about, there has been no compensation from the drivers. It seems a shame that my friend hasn't been able to use her leg for a year and it goes unnoticed legally and socially. The awareness and care for bicyclists should be taken on a Far more seriously. Lives are at stake.

Have you been able to leave the bike memorial in place at the scene of the accident indefinitely? My mother was killed Jan. 7 in St. Francisville, La. a Hummer hit her. We have a wreath cross with a biking picture but I thought I might try your white bike idea. My Mom rode all over the world. It's devestating.
