Philly

Ouaisne Common, Jersey

I understand what you mean with reference to the black base. I personally chose for the contrasting balance between black and white, sky and ground etc. Please do click on this second thumbnail for the cropped version of the same shot.

This is great and shows she has more skills....
Just as you... i prefer this version too... much more power with the black part.

I like it uncropped. The black adds solid contrast for the sky

Hey CL Chick, I understand what you mean but Sabina already beat me to my explanation. I concur with her and actually added the base which did not exist in the original shot. At first I had a black band at the top as well as at the bottom but I did not lik ethe one at the top. I understand what you mean though. I am glad that Sabina understood my intentions though. A great suggestion: please check out both versions.

love the composition and background!
great shot.

great! so adorable!

interesting suggestion by CL Chick, but i would leave it as it is, since the two parts of the image the sky and the "black bottom" perfectly balance each other, and by cropping out the 25% of the bottom, i am afraid this balance will be lost.
but maybe you could put both versions kees, it would be interesting to see the different effects.
regards, sabina

Excellent b&w treatment and pose. I agree with CL, regarding the bottom part cropping.

WOW! Outstanding! GMV!

Very original, Kees. Nice in black and white. One suggestion - crop off the bottom 25% of the frame and take it to a straight landscape orientation. IMO it becomes a much stronger composition.
