Bubbles on water




Inspired by Scott Clarke, I went out today to photograph bubbles on water.
I loved Mr Clarke's colour photos of soap bubbles but thought that they
would work well in monochrome as well. I photographed these with the intention
to turn them into black and white images but when I saw the results... I was in
dubio. I like the effects of both. Hence my decision to post both versions here.

I'm so glad I took the time to pop in. This is an amazing gallery. Message in a bubble. If Jim Croche had seen this he might have changed the title to his famous song. I am fascinated not only by the effort and the technical level here but the imagination in each shot and what is shown inside the bubbles. VVVVV

Hi Kees....have spent quite a while browsing the bubbles both in colour and monochrome.
Both versions are beautiful - the colour being more light hearted and hopeful, with the monochrome more peaceful and contemplative. If I HAD to choose though, for me, it would be the black and white....then again, the brighter colours and reflections...hmmmmmm..LOL

The 70-200 f2.8L is a great lens but in all honesty, nothing beats the 50mm F1.8. The 70-200 f2.8L is a fast lens and a heavy beast. It is great but I am not sure if it is really a lens worth having if you are not shooting professionally as it is a very expensive lens... unless you can find it as a bargain on the second hand market.

Hey Kees, A very good first effort. For me they work best in color but I have done the odd one in B&W. Good job, I know it is harder than it looks. Thanks for letting me know of this gallery. Regards!
