Mother Mouse was very ill suffering with a respiratory viral infection which hit her the day after the kittens arrived. She had a high fever and severe lung congestion for about 10 days. I had her taking Clavamox with twice daily SQ fluids. The kittens here were all ill beginning on about the 10th day on and through 6 weeks. Two kittens died probably from the resulting pneumonia before their 21st day. All were very ill for about 18 days and the 3 survivors have had symptoms of lung scaring through their first 8 months. I understand that its very unlikely that any kittens survive long when they are exposed to a URI at birth.
