Hahaha! my 300d is one year old now and last week i shoot some photos with this lowly camera! =)
Well it served me very well through out the year and hoping for the years to come!

hi my name is josie i leave here in ct. i left phil. 1986 i have to tell you i miss phil. so much .. but now phil. is so defferind is not like when it used to be back then so many job for filipino when american left subic bay is like empty is not the same until now. im hoping until now the american well go back someday for sick of filipino citizen.

Hello every one, I really appreciate this site and admire all the awesome photos of my hometown. I agree with everyone who posted their comments here, all these photo bring the memories back into our hearts. I was born in Olongapo City raised in Gordon heights Blk 27 Balic Balic mountain areas. Napakaraming kayamanan na ala-ala dito sa puso ko mula sa tahanang kinamulatan ko. I can never forget my hometown- the hills, the valleys, the terrains, creeks, lushes green surroundings, the breeze, the trees, bamboos, various species of animals and the rain. Lahat masarap balikan at muling maranasan. I am here in Athabasca, Alberta Canada now, but my hometown, my family, my country and my people will always be here in my heart. -----Sam

I'm not from gapo but from neighboring pampanga province. I frequently visit gapo because of it's great rock n roll bands an d the great scenery. Mardi gras(Dec. 30?) is the best time to visit gapo during those days and it's comparable to New Orleans with how they party over there. Grat place, great city!

hey seeing the pictures make me think of going back to gapo my hometown for 20 yrs, before migrating to the u.s. i hope u have more pics of the city itself, magsaysay dr., marikit park, triangle and the old market wer i used to go to shop. good memories very nice place to grow old.

these pictures brought tears to my eyes. i grew up in different parts of olongapo but my family's last known address was in gordon heights (can't remember the numerical address though) but i missed my "town". Someday I'll bring the children to see my ol' beautiful olongapo. Thankx for sharing the pix.

Gheeeezzzzz!I miss my homeland so much! I've been to different places all over the world but nothing beats the hospitaliy and warmness of Gapo people. These photos are awesome! I was brought back to my old town! More Power and keep it going!

Beautiful pictures ! I also am a veteran who was stationed at Cubi Pt., VRC-50, from Jan 1981 to Jul 1983. When I left the P.I., it was a sad day, I was 18 yrs old when I was stationed their, and left at 20, alot of hearts were broken as well... nobody other than those who have were born native pilipino or were stationed their can really appreciate the beauty of the people, or their country. I just returned from a brief three and a half year hiatus in Olongapo City. I have a house just outside of town up in the mountains. The place has changed a lot since the days of fleet visits but there is still a little bit of the old bar flavor in Bario Barreto. Having some little cutey groping my zipper under the table brought back memories.

I was in olongapo back in 1971 and 1972 on the oriskany cva 34. loved the town, loved the zanzibar club, and the brown bottled san miquel beer.

I'm another of those American service men who spent a lot of time in the Phillipines and really loved it. I was stationed at Cubi Point from October 1974 until February 1976, again from January 1979 until April 1982, and I was able to make two short visits, in 1988 and 1990, while stationed aboard the USS Carl Vinson. Those were some of the best times of my life and I have countless stories from my time there. I travelled around some (Manila, Baguio City, Bicol Province, Corregidor, etc) and met wonderful people wherever I went. I wish I could make it back someday and see if some of my old friends are still around. Keep up the great work with this site.

I fell in love with a beautiful Philippina; her name is Maria Christina, I called her Christy. She worked at a restaurant (E-Club) near the Marine Corps barracks, on top of the hill, near the air port. She lived or lives in Dinalupihan Bataan. My unit was redeployed in 1990 to Kuwait. During the War, I lost contact with her, I never heard form her again. I miss her very much. Can you help me find her? If you do find her; tell her that I am doing very well. I was born and raised in Olongapo and was evacueted to U.S because of the Pinatubo eruption.This picture mean a lot to me because I haven't been back since last time I went home 1998. Olongapo is one of the best place Thank you Marissa

I am so fortunate to have spent so much time in Olongapo and to have traveled throughout the islands while stationed onboard the USS Midway in the 1980s. It is nice to look back at what was and see what is today; Great memories and Great people!

I was in Subic in July 2005, up from Manila for the diving. I was on holiday from the UK travelling alone and was 'adopted' by a family in Magalang. I had a fantastic insight into the people and the culture, and Subic opened my eyes on how this beautiful country has been badly exploited but retains its friendliness, trust, good nature and pride. I will be back!

I am from Olongapo City and I was one of the thousands of Volunteers who helped clean up the base after the Americans left. It is a beautiful place and I hope our kababayans will have the chance to explore the beauty of that city.

I was with MARINE barracks Co.B Cubi Point 79-81 and in Cavite as civilian 82-85. I loved everything about the Phillipines especialy my wife Ana-May. NICE PICTURES.

Nice photos. The sunsets really bring back fond memories. The mountain in the sunset across the bay from Olongapo was my first real taste of the Philippines. I had to climb up that hill on my first trip there to photograph an aircraft crash site. R.L. Baker Photographers mate USN (ret)
