Paint Mines


The park features fantastic geological formations including spires and hoodoos that were formed through erosive action that created incised gullies and exposed layers of selenite clay and jasper. The colorful clays were used by the American Indians for making pottery and ceremonial paints.

Nice job. And I bet that it wasn't blazing hot in November. I was surprised at how hot it was when we visited in September.
