New Mexico is known for its special light that sometimes produces spectacular skies. Photographers typically prefer northern New Mexico around Santa Fe and Taos but the skies in southern New Mexico are not so bad either, especially during the winter rains and the summer monsoon. Many of these photos were taken from the backyard of our home looking out over the Mesilla Valley, near Las Cruces, NM.
