Guest: an digital camera has an infrared cutoff filter directly on the sensor in order to avoid a red cast on the photos under bright sunlight because of the infrared. Modifying a camera to infrared involves to remove this IR-cutoff filter and replace it by a filter letting only IR get through. I had one of my camera modified be swapping the IR-cutoff filter with a 720nm filter directly on the sensor. Hope this helps

Please explain more about your infrared modified camera. Thanks.

Are you sure you don't work for National Geographic? Lovely photos as usual. You captured the smiling antelope, the wistful water buffaloes, the bemused crocodile, the wary gorilla, the tree resting cats, the fashion show birds, the God's country skies and lands and the hard at work but smiling people.--thank you.
Your Vermont friend. Anna

Hello Dominique, I admire your beautiful photos from your recent Namibia trip. I shall be visiting Namibia in September/October 2010 and your pictures show that this is a dry, but great time of the year to go there.
I shall have to get an additional Pentax SLR body to take along. Changing lenses is not very advisable in the dusty surroundings.
Best regards, Peter Pandiani (Züri Oberland)

Hello Dominique, I have just looked at your beautiful pictures from your recent Namibia trip. It makes me look forward to our trip to Namibia next year, also September/October.
You take super photos und confirm that Pentax is as good a make to use as any other.

Your pictures are so beautiful
Recently, I survey the Pentax-istDX, but I still don't choose my camera-lens.
When I see your web, I found that 16-45mm/4 may be an excellent choise.
How do you think? Should I choose it to be my first lens?

Sincerely yours
Shane

your pictures are also very nice !!
i live in iceland so i have the pleasure to enjoy it the all year around ...
some of your pictures (like the ones in the north and north east) remind me i have to go back there to warm up the camera a little bit !!
Irving Buckleman 10-Nov-2004 14:40
I really enjoyed the quality of your galleries. I will be buying my first digital SLR next month and I am strongly considering the Pentax ist-d with 16-45 lens. I already own some Pentax film cameras and pentax compatible lenses. If you had it to do all over again would you still choose the Pentax ist-d? Is there anything about the camera and 16-45mm lens that you do not like?
Thanks,
Irving Buckleman

Hello --Recognized the statue overlooking the water. I think I have viewed this run of images before, but a good thing is worth repeating; so, I did. Was in beautiful Switzerland last year right at this time and at this very spot. I so wanted to take pictures of the statues along the shore-- only got one. Your pictures reflect sensitivity. Kudos to a talented photographer Your Vermont friend.

I am so excited to see photos taken by the Pentax IstD w/ 16-45mm zoom lens. The IstD captures the subtle hues (of the flesh and other colors), moods and renders bright and clear pictures of the primary and secondary subjects. As compared to other digital SLR's, the Pentax IstD by far is the best quality. I was wondering at what is the maximum enlargement size of the Pentax IstD (6.1MP) pics before the quality starts to deteriorate?

Hallo Dominique,
herzlich Bernd
