This Konso Village was so charming. The Konso are farmers and their villages are built on terraced, green hillsides. The villages are surrounded with stone walls made for protection. Paths wind throughout the village. Each family has a compound with their thatched huts and animals. There is a large hut called a mora that is a special meeting place for the people. The young unmarried men sleep there at night to protect the community.
