WR 16 shell in Carina

WR 16 is a Wolf-Rayet star (Catalog number HD 86161).
It is about 7,500 light years distant in the southern constellation of Carina.
The star is surrounded by a perfectly circular bubble about 8’ in apparent diameter.

The gases ejected from these massive stars are traveling at high velocities, ranging from 300-2400 km/s.
The gases interacting with and carving out the interstellar medium, often producing a wind-blown nebular bubble.

Wow awesome result! This one is weird cos it doesn't have any OIII. As well as the 8 arcminute bubble, the rest of the cloud is ejecta from a previous mass loss event.
