Ayuthaya - ancient city ruins (new page)

This was another must on the trip. This used to be the ancient capital way back 6-700 years ago. Its amazing most of it is still standing, as the Burmese invaded and burnt a whole bunch of stuff down. The buddha that is in that big white temple is around the same age, but it has been refurbished. Its bronze, but has been painted over gold. Not sure if these were the same ruins used in the movies Kickboxer and also Mortal Combat
