My Uncle John, died 15th.February 1942.He was just 22 years old.(I was born in 1955),was killed when the Vickers Wellington bomber he was piloting, crashed into the sea off of Clacton,Essex. In the bottom of this shot,is a Wellington engine,or part thereof, from his plane. He had flown 30 missions over Germany and had signed up to another 15(not compulsory) and just been promoted to Pilot, when the accident happened. My son is named John,in his memory.
