Some "experts" think the mounds on the lhs of this ditch,is evidence of seige work at this castle,whilst others say it was built by the castle owners themselves.Either way,700 years on,its still impressive.

Ian, very minor devastation, in 700 years, a lot of trees came and went. These mounds will be here forever. Or until a developer builds flats on top of the site.
