Hadrian's Wall

Winshield Crag,Northumberland,UK.

Looking East from Winshields Crags summit.I often feel that Hadrian's Wall is packaged to an unsuspecting world as being a smaller version of The Great Wall of China. It isn't.There are long sections of Hadrian's Wall which are devoid of masonry, large sections which only have a dry stone wall on the original line. That is what I hope to portray in these images. This image shows a section of Wall which, though on a Roman foundation,is only a recent farming wall and in no way representative of the Original Hadrian's Wall.A partially reconstructed section of Wall can be seen to the rhs of the image.
