Saturday 17/4 was a blessed day for the astikas at Perungalathur. “SrIi sannidhi dOlai kaNNan garuda vAhanathil purappAdu kaNdarulinAn”. Couple of years back Sri Kannan had a purappadu on Simha Vahanam. It was very impressive and Srimath Azhagiyasingar that time said He will get a new Garuda Vahanam for the sannidhi at Perungalathur. A beautiful vAhanam was ready few months back and everyone was eagerly waiting for the sancharam of Srimath Azhagiyasingar to Perungalathur.

It was a very hectic day. After three dolais our kutti kaNNan came to the sannidhi. U.Ve. Veeraraghavachar, Sri Sannidhi aradhakar adorned Kannan beautifully. Due to the very high level of achara anushtanams at Sri Sannidhi silk rope was used for ekAntham instead of regular cotton rope used in most of the temples. Veda pArAyaNa gOsthi had come from Kanchipuram to take part in the purappadu. Also there we lot of adhyapakas to recite prabhandam. Another noticeable aspect was the sannidhi paricharaka carrying theertham for purifying the upaharam (like fruits/coconuts). Infact Srimath Azhgiyasingar highlighted this during a anugraha bashanam.

It was delight to watch Sri Kannan on top of the garuda vAhanam.
