At first I felt badly for this escaped bird. It was flying around with a large flocks of juncos and such. Then after contemplating the fact that it is free from man's cage, I was struck by the profound message, similar to Ben Franklin's, someone who sacrifices their freedom for safety, likely deserved neither. This bird will likely die, if it hasn't already from the cold weather we have been having, but at least it will die free, as a bird should be.
